During the years he lived in Japan and
the years he worked as a translator for
the U.S. government, Paul Williams, President of National
Pearl,
became fluent
in both the Japanese and Mandarin Chinese languages.
Because of his linguistic skills, Paul became the Global
Procurement Officer for a large U.S. firm which sent
him to Asia several times a year on business.
During
one of his business trips to the orient, Paul bought
a strand of pearls for his wife. When he brought
it home and had it appraised, he found its value
to be ten times what he had paid.
When friends and family heard about his experience,
they began asking him to bring pearls back for their
wives. These transactions revealed the possibility
of a business where high quality pearls could be purchased
directly from the source, sold at a profit, and still
be much cheaper to the consumer than what they could
find at a traditional jewelry store.
Over the years,
Paul formed close relationships with pearl harvesters
overseas and was able
to access
pearls
of even
higher quality and at even better prices. He began
to test the market selling pearls to local jewelers,
and with the success he
saw,
decided
to expand the business to a national level.
He formed a small team of business, marketing and web
professionals, and National Pearl was born.
Since it's
creation, all partners in National Pearl have been
educated by the Gemological Institute of
America (G.I.A.) and have been selling premium pearl
jewelry online to all parts of the United States
and Canada
at prices far lower than traditional jewelers.
We have had an excellent response with extremely
satisfied customers who even take the time to write
us and tell us how much they loved the pearls and our
service. The business has been a success, and we continue
to grow our selection and quality while providing the
highest customer service possible.
We at National Pearl are very thankful to God and
to our many customers for our success and thank everyone
who has helped our company to grow.
